This is how AR will be diffused and adopted.
Keynote - Into The Future: A World Without Edges with Graeme Devine
Conclusions:
- "Iteration in a new medium is a must"
- seen with radio, television, video games.
- "It takes time for a platform to find itself (and construct a comfortable, unwritten contract with the player, the view viewer" for what that format for experience really is. i.e, "TV episode, that radio play, that video game" control and interaction system).
Video games developed a formula where one controller moves the character, one controller moves the camera. It took about 20 years for us to reach that contract with the player. What is interaction in Mixed Reality?
- Cats always win
Catastrophe - from Magic Leap Pitchfest
Why Mixed Reality?
Would it be more fit for a different platform?
People often present something to me - and it might be better experienced in a normal, non-mixed reality format. Such as a map or normal app.
- Theme park - increase entertainment.
- Warehouse - increase productivity.
- Profession - i.e.: Spinal surgery - I can look up at the spine but don’t have to look up at the monitor - the surgery takes less time, the person has a chance to heal better and survive better.

What is Improbable?
We see a large number of $502M and the term "virtual." But what is Improbable and why would a city-state's sovereign wealth fund invest?
“We believe that the next major phase in computing will be the emergence of large-scale virtual worlds which enrich human experience and change how we understand the real world. At Improbable we have spent the last few years building the foundational infrastructure for this vision,” - Improbable Founder, Narula

audience question:
how do i make sure that I am achieving enough every day.
Sophia Sunwoo quotes Tony Robbins:
"You over estimate what you can accomplish in a year. But you underestimate what you can accomplish in 10 years"
the common theme:
Not set deadlines but a non-linear organic process
Towers highlights a pattern among the panelists:
"What I hear you are saying
how you approach to complexity - one step at a time ...as you have to in order to solve wicked problems "
- Joel Towers - Dean of Parsons
"you you don't know the top until you've seen the bottom and worked our way up"

everyday I am going back to school
So often the arts are forgotten -
and that's how a lot of us learn
we learn differently
When I saw the space - not only in technology but in changing the futre
But with regards to hospitals [and other human contexts] is what we are teaching

Great to see how parts of the university change so often and so dramatically.
This constantly change may be driven by New York or as Dave Marin thinks - that in this field of creativity you constantly have to be reinventing yourself.

“The first step is hardware...the next phase in developing virtual reality is building great software experiences”
- " Experiences where you have people first."
Content beyond games
- Education
- "10% of apps in Oculus store are experiences"

- motion tracking - like Google Project Tango
